Statement by medical students

Students of Kharkiv International Medical University thank their friends, colleagues and all concerned people who showed their support for the Ukrainian people and protested against the Russian invasion during this difficult time of the war.

Today, the whole world is at the center of Russia's information war and expansion in the media and information space. The spread of false facts destroys the true attitude of many people to the war in Ukraine. This deprives you of the opportunity to make your real choice, to express your thoughts.

We, students and all members of the academic community of KhIMU, are witnessing daily bombings and shelling by Russian planes and artillery of hospitals, kindergartens, schools, universities, historical monuments, homes in many Ukrainian cities, villages, towns and Kharkiv. Every day on the territory of Ukraine our defenders, doctors, teachers, parents, loved ones, children die because of the occupation war, which was started by the Russian Federation in violation of personal human rights, namely: the right to life. ❤️

Genocide is taking place in our independent country. Instead of learning new material and improving their professional skills, all children, students and teachers are forced to hide in shelters, to fight for their existence. Or worse, mourn their loved ones.
We, the students, are working during the war in hospitals, ambulances, volunteering, risking our own lives, and someone is in hell - on the battlefield. We are doing all this for the sake of victory.

Therefore, we urge our colleagues to receive information only from internationally reliable sources. During this occupation war, do not stay away, we, the students - the future of our states, our nations - must first turn on critical thinking when receiving any kind of news, filter information. Because we are the center of social thought. Today there is an international separation of Russia from various industries. The academic community cannot be left out. The actions of each of our international friends or partners are contributing to the end of this unjust, ruthless war.

We believe that Ukraine will win this tragic war, because the whole civilized, democratic world stands with us!!!💙💛
