Association founded: Digital Medical Regulation

Switzerland as a center of science stands for innovation and cutting-edge research. Start-ups and spin-offs are also working on revolutionary developments in the field of medicine. Transferred to clinical application, these make a significant contribution to high-quality medical care for the population at large.

The goal must be to further ensure that medical technology innovations reach patients more quickly.
The establishment of the association is an important step towards removing administrative hurdles and further promoting innovative strength and technological progress. Essential factors for a competitive university location in Switzerland.

With the creation of a common platform, which includes the most renowned academic stakeholders for scientific questions of MedTech regulation, the association "Swiss Network for Digital Medical Regulation" has laid its foundation.
Its aim is to take the essential lead in the digitalization of MedTech device regulation.

Stakeholders that the association wants to pick up are research organizations whose high level of digitalization competencies are crucial for the future of regulation. MedTech start-ups, hospitals and important public institutions that are currently still distant from research in regulatory matters. The association sees a goal-oriented task in convincing these institutions that simplified digital regulatory instruments for EU-MDR, US-FDA and also Chi-na-MNPA are necessary. This approach should allow a direct influence on politics.

The association "Swiss Network for Digital Medical Regulation" sees itself as a unique science- and technology-related instrument for the promotion of digitalization in regulation with close links to authorities, to research, to industry and to public and private institutions or communities of interest.
It catalyzes understanding of scientific issues related to regulation among the public and political opinion makers, and offers guidance on innovative solutions to problems.
